La Birria de las 12, nestled in Cihuatlan, Jal., is a gastronomic gem celebrated for its authentic birria, a traditional goat stew from Jalisco. Customers rave about the exquisite flavors, noting the meticulous preparation that involves marinating the meat in adobo sauce before slow cooking it in rustic clay ovens for hours. The ambiance is equally delightful, set in a charming patio adorned with a wooden palapa, allowing diners to enjoy their meal surrounded by lush vegetation.
Patrons like J Towers delight in the homemade tortillas and refried beans, perfect for revitalizing after a late night. Tenek Tech emphasizes the beauty of the dining space, while Dustin Willan appreciates the straightforward menu with just three options: small, medium, and large servings of birria, complemented by sides of beans, cheese, and tortillas. With Beto, the passionate owner, ensuring authentic recipes passed down through generations, it's clear why this spot thrives on word-of-mouth alone.
The advice to arrive early is crucial; by noon, the delightful birria often sells out. La Birria de las 12 is not just a meal but an experience steeped in tradition, making it a must-visit destination for any food enthusiast.

Delicious traditional goat stew "birria" a traditional dish from Jalisco. The restaurant is beautiful in a patio covered with a wooden palapa, sitting in equipales seats surrounded by vegetation. Birrieria is a restaurant where you can eat birria (goat stew). The meat for birria is prepared with an adobo sauce and spices in clay pots, slowly baked in the oven using charcoal for 7 to 8 hours usually overnight to be ready for early brunch around 8:00 a.m. in the morning. The final plate is a goat stew with broth. The birria is served with home made fresh tortillas and you can also side dishes like delicious refried beans, quesadillas and jocoque, Drinks includes coffee, jamaica (hibiscus) cold tea, orange juice and soft drinks.

Excellent food and good service. They only have three options: small, medium and large. Sides of cheese, beans and tortillas. Trust me when I say that's all you need.

Great place with a unique personality. A rustic design, yet lively, comfortable and tipical. The perfect match to try the traditional dish from the region, prepared following the original recipe that has passed for three generations. There is no other place like this in Jalisco or Colima. You will be greatly perplexed of see such a busy place thriving with no help of publicity, but customers recomendations. Birria, the main and only dish served, is prepared with goat in rustic clay ovens that you will see while enjoying your plate. Ask for "aldilla" a delicious crispy part of the lambs' ribs. Beto, the owner and follower of this tradition, kindly will meet you request. Meantime, ask him about the meaning of the business name. Finally, get early, just after nine o'clock. By noon, it is pretty likely the birria will be gone.
